All transition year students have now received two forms in their communication class this week.
Form 1 – Letter for a potential employer: the students should give this letter into businesses, companies or organisations that they wish to gain employment from for their first work experience placement. Students are reminded that they should hand the letter in and express their interest in work to the manager or supervisor of the company.
Form 2 – Employer, Student, Parent Information: students should take this form whilst seeking employment. When a company offers the student a placement, they should fill in all relevant informtion i.e employers name, contact number, address, the times of work and any other relevent information. This form must be returned to Ms. O’Neill by 2nd October. If students are finding it hard to find a placement they must speak to Ms. O’Neill before the 2nd October.
When choosing a work experience placement students are encouraged to think about what their main interests are and what subjects they enjoy doing in school. This may guide them in a career path and a possible placement. Students are also encouraged to think outside the box and challenge themselves.
