A group of 12 TY students took up their community care placement in the school from 8th- 12th February. During this week they started phase 1 of a massive project which involves turning a block of toilets into a new sports facility for the school.

These 12 students have taken on this project with all their heart and soul. Keep an eye out on this post to see the progress as the project continues throughout the year.

Day 1 the students were greeted by builder Stephen Smith and given a debrief and safety talk before getting down to the big clear out.

Day 2 the students organised a fundraising event with the 1st & 2nd Year students to start the fund for financing this project. The students raised €609 which paid for the rental of the skip to clear the room.

The fundraiser involved all 1st & 2nd year students doing a sponsored walk. All students were asked to come to school in their PE tracksuit and dress up as their favourite sports star! Spot prizes were given for the most money raised.
