There are work experience opportunities throughout Dublin that do not happen at the same time as our work experience weeks. None the less if students feel they would really love the opportunity to take on an additional work experience placement in the following programmes please come and talk to Ms. O’Neill.

Tallaght Hospital – Health Care Careers

1-day Education Programme for transition year students interested in healthcare career paths such as nursing and health and social care professions (e.g. physiotherapy, nutrition and dietetics etc). The available dates are outlined below.

Unicef Transition Year Programme – Fundraising

During the week students would perform a number of tasks supporting the UNICEF Ireland Fundraising team. The work is varied but would generally consist of supporting any live or upcoming campaigns or events, administration tasks such as compiling mail-outs, data entry, creation of contact lists for telemarketing, stock takes, filing, attending meetings with various members of the team and online research.

Irish Museum of Modern Art , The Royal Hospital Kilmainham

The work placement schedule involves tours, studio visits, meeting with staff and a general overview of what the museum is about.

UCD Veterinary Medicine Programme

The UCD School of Veterinary Medicine offers a one week programme for Transition Year Students who are thinking of studying veterinary medicine. This TY Programme is run in February each year.

The aim of the programme is to give students a taste of what it is like to be a vet student in UCD.

As part of this programme, TY students get to sit in on lectures, attend some laboratories and observe staff and students in the Vet Hospital.
